Gary and Chelsea were married on September 19th, 2020. The ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Redmond House in Dansville, NY. The Redmond House is tucked into the hills of the Genesee Valley and was absolutely perfect for their special day. It was a crisp fall day with a beautiful breeze, and warm sunshine. Surrounded by close friends and family Gary and Chelsea became husband and wife.
The details of Gary and Chelsea’s wedding day were absolutely gorgeous. This is one of my favorite things to sneak away and shoot as the wedding party is getting ready. Chelsea’s jewelry was absolutely stunning and all the little details she had put together for her look were exceptional. I loved photographing them.
The Redmond House was set up perfectly for Gary and Chelsea’s big day. The girls had reserved the upstairs to get ready, and the guys were downstairs. Chelsea and her bridesmaids were enjoying being pampered before the ceremony. They had a stylist do their hair and makeup while they enjoyed music, drinks, and so much laughter. The girls were ready for the ceremony to start.
As the girls were putting the finishing touches on their looks upstairs, the guys were downstairs getting ready. Helping each other with their coats and waiting with anticipation, the guys were ready to celebrate Gary and Chelsea. Loving gifts accompanied with letters were exchanged between Gary and Chelsea before the ceremony. I love this tradition, it gives the bride and groom bonus time to pump each other up before they walk down the aisle.
A first look was shared between Chelsea and her father right before the ceremony began. It’s very easy to get caught up in the fast pace of a wedding day. Taking a moment to do a first look is so important. Spending a few minutes with just your father before the ceremony is heartfelt and relaxing. Chelsea chose a beautiful pond overlook as her first look spot. She walked out onto the dock, and her father turned to look at her. You could feel the love beaming across the water, it was absolutely magical.
The time came for walking down the aisle. Chelsea walked with her dad, both smiling the whole way. I love seeing everyone’s reaction to the bride walking down the aisle but mostly the grooms. Gary’s reaction was so special. There was a moment of shock and excitement, followed by a serious moment of trying to hold it together. Chelsea was a beautiful bride, and Gary was so proud in that moment that she was his.
The ceremony was short and sweet, and so full of love and laughter. The officiant was a friend and previous teacher to both Gary and Chelsea, Kevin Raymond did an absolutely wonderful job.
Introducing Mr. + Mrs. McTarnaghan, that part always gives me goosebumps. The kiss, followed by the excitement of everyone surrounding them. Gary and Chelsea were ready to get the party started and celebrate their love with their closest friends and family.
The reception space was just steps from the ceremony, it was convenient and easy to roll into getting the party started. The space was beautifully decorated with flowers and greenery from Berry Vine Creations. I absolutely loved all the eucalyptus, it was stunning. The DJ was Stellar Entertainment and they did a wonderful job playing music and creating a special ambiance through out the evening. There was a display of refurbished furniture, with favors and personal touches tucked into, these were from Rustic Luxe, in Hornell, NY and they were awesome! All of these amazing vendors did a wonderful job putting Chelsea and Gary’s day together perfectly.
We stepped away from all the excitement for a few moments to do Bride and Groom portraits. Gary and Chelsea embraced and made this part real easy for me. Just slowing down for a few minutes and taking in the day so far just the two of them. You could feel their energy relax and that moment of realization, being Husband and Wife now.
For the Love of Flour did an amazing job on desserts. The cake and cupcakes were equally as sweet to look at as they were to taste. Gary and Chelsea cut their cake and shared a sweet treat with their guests. Everyone enjoys this part of a wedding, me especially.
Gary and Chelsea had the perfect wedding day. The thought that went into all the details that made up the day, really made it perfect for them and their guests. I’ve never seen a wedding party so excited for their friends to get married like this one. To have the love and support of your friends and family is like giving the day a great big hug.
Gary and Chelsea, Thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer. We had so much fun at your wedding. The details were beautiful, every choice you carefully made was reflected in how perfect the day was. The wedding party had such an amazing positive energy, you could tell each person was there to celebrate your love to the fullest. In those quiet moments, when you think no one is looking, I could see the love that you two share when you looked into each others eyes. That love will never fade. I wish you happiness for a lifetime. xoxo, Chelsie
